Is there a God?

In theosophy, the concept of God is often understood as a divine infinite and impersonal principle underlying all existence, rather than a personal deity. God is seen as the ultimate reality, the ultimate intelligence, the source from which everything emanates.

Why does the Universe exist?

From a theosophical perspective, the purpose of the universe is evolution and self-realization. It is a vast, interconnected system, with no conceivable beginning or end, where all beings strive towards greater consciousness and spiritual growth, ultimately leading to unity with the divine source.

Who am I?

In Theosophy, this is answered by recognizing oneself as a multidimensional spiritual being having a human experience, and that at the core of our being lies a divine spark, connected to the universal source of consciousness. It acknowledges the eternal nature of the soul, on a journey of self-discovery and spiritual evolution, through countless lifetimes towards higher levels of consciousness and unity with the divine.

What of Heaven & Hell?

In theosophy, the concepts of Heaven and Hell are not eternal destinations but rather temporary afterlife conditions experienced as part of the soul's journey, ultimately serving as opportunities for growth, learning, and eventual reunion with the divine. After death, the soul initially transitions through the Astral Plane, reliving experiences manifested by its positive and negative emotions during that lifetime; the more crude of the latter may resemble the pain and suffering of Hell. The soul then moves further, through the Mental Plane and into Devachan or the Causal Plane, where it experiences Heaven, a state of blissful consciousness, a period of rest, reflection, and rejuvenation, where the soul assimilates the lessons learned during that lifetime, and prepares for its next incarnation.
